PENTAX Medical, a Montville-based healthcare industry leader in endoscopy solutions, announced that David Woods, the current global chief marketing officer of PENTAX Medical, has been appointed President of PENTAX Medical of the Americas, effective immediately.
In this role, Woods will provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the operating units in the Pan-American region. He will also continue his role in Global Strategy, focused on organic product development and mergers and acquisitions. Woods will continue to report directly to Gerald W. Bottero, global president of PENTAX Medical.

Woods is an industry veteran with over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare sector. He began his career at PENTAX Medical in 1998 as the Director of National Accounts and was promoted to Vice President of Business Development in 2001. In 2004, he became President of the Americas region, a role he successfully fulfilled for more than 10 years. Recently, in 2015, Woods was promoted to Global Chief Marketing Officer, where he led product strategy, management, marketing, and mergers and acquisitions. Woods has been instrumental in PENTAX Medical’s investment in Creo Medical, the acquisition of C2 Therapeutics, establishment of the China joint venture with Shanghai Aohua Photoelectricity Endoscope Co., and launch of the PENTAX Medical Triple Aim Partnership model that is focused on improved clinical and economic outcomes, and enhanced patient and provider satisfaction.
