Transwestern Commercial Services (TCS) announces construction has commenced at 1000 Maxwell Lane, the final building in Toll Brothers City Living’s heralded mixed-use development at historic Maxwell Place in Hoboken. 1000 Maxwell Lane will feature a unique combination of street-level retail, office space and luxury condominiums. TCS has been retained to provide leasing services for the 110,800 square feet of planned office space, with Managing Director Matt McDonough heading the leasing team.
1000 Maxwell Lane is at the intersection of 11th Street and Maxwell Lane in Uptown Hoboken. It is part of Toll Brothers City Living’s larger Maxwell Place development including three luxury residential towers comprising 755 units, a waterfront park, and a diverse mix of retail. The office building at 1000 Maxwell Lane forms an important component of the evolution of the larger Maxwell Place project into a true live/work/play enclave. 1000 Maxwell Lane will include additional street-level retail, six stories of state-of-the-art office, and five stories of elegant condominiums.
“Maxwell Place is a unique project that brings diversity to the Hoboken waterfront, and 1000 Maxwell Lane is an important final component of the project,” said Henry L. Waller, vice president of Toll Brothers City Living. “Being the first speculative office development built during the current market cycle, 1000 Maxwell Lane is a distinctive mixed-use project meeting the needs of Hoboken’s growing community of entrepreneurs, new ventures, and tenants in the technology, advertising, media and information industries.”
In addition to the opportunity to recruit and retain top talent with the allure of high-function workspace designed to spur creativity and collaboration, office tenants of the new building will benefit from a prime location in the sought-after uptown Hoboken neighborhood with direct ferry service to Manhattan. The site, near Stevens Institute of Technology, also gives tenants easy access to one of the premier engineering and technology leaders on the East Coast.
“Toll Brothers City Living saw the need for creative office space in Hoboken, where the market currently has an emphasis on the needs of more traditional tenants,” said McDonough. “With the distinct and technologically advanced space at 1000 Maxwell Lane, Toll Brothers is creating a greater balance in the Hoboken office market, with spaces catering to the booming number of TAMI companies and innovative start-ups on New Jersey’s Gold Coast.”
Maxwell Place is adjacent to the 14th Street NY Waterway ferry terminal, approximately a mile from the Lincoln Tunnel entrance and Route 495, which provides access to the New Jersey Turnpike as well as Routes 3, 1 and 9. Multiple public transportation options are available in the area including the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, PATH trains, NJ Transit lines, and NY Waterway.
Maxwell Place is a joint venture between Toll Brothers and Pinnacle Downtown.
