NY’s Edge Auto Rental Expands to Newark

Edge Auto Rental, New York City’s largest employee-owned (ESOP) and sustainable transportation and logistics company, has expanded to Newark. Edge will bring its fleet of approximately 200 electric and gas vehicles and SUVs for individual and corporate clients, as well as its cutting-edge fleet of trailers and vehicles for the film and entertainment industry to a new, three-acre. The company intends to employ local residents at this facility, adding to its 60+ employees overall.

“As a 100% employee-owned business, our clients have come to expect an ownership mentality from our team and an unwavering commitment to customer service. Every time you’re interacting with us, you’re talking to an employee-owner who is focused on client service,” said Rudy Callegari, co-founder of Edge Auto Rental. “We also take our role in the environment very seriously, which is why we are driven to achieve carbon neutrality and continue to invest in electric vehicles for our fleet, solar power applications and tree-planting initiatives. This is very important to us and we know that we’re already making a positive impact.”

Callegari continued, “Our move to New Jersey is a natural extension of our work for and in support of the film and television production industry. As New Jersey becomes a focus for this industry, we will have a local presence to support these clients. Of course, we continue to provide services to all businesses that have auto and truck rental needs, and we are excited to show New Jersey businesses what we can do for them.”

In its report on the environmental impact of Film and Television production, the Sustainable Production Alliance identified fuel as the biggest contributor to industry emissions. Edge takes this seriously and has doubled down on its commitment to electric vehicles. As soon as new electric vehicle models that are relevant to our customer base are released, Edge will be adding to its electric fleet, and helping to inform and educate its customers on best practices. Today, a large portion of the Edge fleet is made up of electric vehicles.

Edge Auto Rental recently launched a new self-service tool and a complete redesign of the company’s website. The self-service tool gives customers complete control of their rentals, including booking, invoices, adding/removing users, and notifications for important dates or times such as due dates for pickups or drop offs. The tool is accessible via the Edge Auto website at www.edgeautorental.com.
