Nominations for 2022 National Small Business Week Awards Due by Jan. 11

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 National Small Business Week (NSBW) Awards in the Garden State. The NSBW Awards recognize the achievements of SBA-assisted small businesses and the contributions they have made to their communities and our nation’s economy.

“SBA New Jersey has made a significant impact on our state’s economy, delivering an unprecedented $40 billion to small businesses throughout our COVID-19 economic aid programs – on top of approximately $1.3 billion in traditional lending throughout fiscal year 2021,” said District Director Al Titone. “As our economic recovery continues, the SBA New Jersey District is excited to further support our small businesses in 2022. We’re looking for your nominations for the National and District Small Business Week 2022 Awards, including our Small Business Person of the Year.”

“The past twenty months have been challenging as small businesses have adapted and pivoted to meet the demands of COVID across New Jersey’s 21 counties. That’s why we’re asking our neighbors to nominate a small business owner who has used an SBA program like the Paycheck Protection Program, COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loans, Restaurant Revitalization Fund, Shuttered Venue Operators Grant or any of our traditional funding programs or resource partner services,” Titone added.

“Self-nominations are also accepted to help further highlight our vibrant small business community from the Palisades to Central New Jersey all the way down to the Jersey Shore. We want to hear from you,” he said.

To nominate a small business owner located in the Upstate New York District, you must apply online via sba.gov/nsbw. You can learn more about nomination guidelines, download the required Background and Nomination Forms and submit them via the proper national or district upload portal link. For National Small Business Week 2022, no paper or mailed forms will be accepted; nominations must be made online.

All nominations must be submitted electronically via the Box.com New Jersey portal found here by 3 p.m. ET on January 11, 2022. The awards will be presented during National Small Business Week in early May 2022.
