NJRC Annual Reentry Conference to be Held April 6

The New Jersey Reentry Corporation, the non-profit agency whose mission is to remove all barriers to employment for citizens returning from jail or prison, will hold its annual reentry conference, titled “Training for the Dignity of Work,” on April 6, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Mac Mahon Student Center, St. Peter’s University, Jersey City.

The event, which will focus on job training and other essential skills needed for successful reentry into society, will feature the stories of several NJRC participants who have developed careers because of quality job training. The conference will also feature a variety of seminars with business leaders, government officials, and the formerly incarcerated, that will underscore the importance of providing the reentry population with training opportunities that lead to a pathway to employment.

This is a premier opportunity for employees and employers to learn more about hiring formerly incarcerated individuals, as well as ways businesses can better support persons in the workplace.

There will also be networking opportunities available so that individuals in attendance can build relationships with potential employers or mentors who can help guide them through their transition back into life outside of prison walls. A job fair will also be held that day for court-involved persons.
