Once home to thousands of Newark Central High School students, the Central King Building on the NJIT campus exemplifies intelligent, creative and economically impactful urban redevelopment that serves students, industry and the local community.
New Jersey Innovation Institute’s (NJII) new $7-million Agile Strategy Lab is located at the east end of the building facing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard where it forms a 14,000 square foot multipurpose area that includes executive offices, work stations conference and break rooms. In addition, a key feature is its dramatic two story open space that can be configured for a variety of formats to match the needs for collaboration and ideation exercises. Floor to ceiling glass walls along Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard invite abundant natural light to permeate the space and glass-walled offices surround the interior first floor perimeter.
“Collaboration is jet fuel for innovation,” said Donald Sebastian, NJII president & CEO. “Our Agile Strategy Lab is expressly designed to bring together industry, academe and government to find technical solutions to the grand challenges that we all share.”
