NJ Is Second Worst State to Start a Business, According to WalletHub

According to a WalletHub study in which it compared 50 states across 26 key indicators of startup business success, New Jersey Is 2019’s second worst state to start a business. The survey data set ranged from financing accessibility to availability of human capital to office-space affordability.

Here are the New Jersey Findings (1=Best; 25=Avg.):

  • 33rd – Avg. Growth in Number of Small Businesses
  • 45th – Office-Space Affordability
  • 49th – Labor Costs
  • 16th – Availability of Human Capital
  • 27th – Avg. Length of Work Week (in Hours)
  • 42nd – Cost of Living
  • 36th – Industry Variety

Rhode Island ranked 50th in the survey and New Hampshire, 48th.
