The New Jersey Bankers Association (NJBankers) and a coalition of community banks organized a donation drive throughout September to support the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
As part of Hunger Action Month, NJBankers, along with Blue Foundry Bank, First Bank, Spencer Savings Bank, and Valley Bank, encouraged both employees and customers to contribute to NJBankers’ initiative to donate one million meals over five years, helping combat food insecurity across the state. Collectively, these organizations donated over 17,000 meals to families in New Jersey during September.
In just the first two years of this campaign, NJBankers and its members have provided nearly 700,000 meals and volunteered 7,500 hours to address the growing need in their communities.
“NJBankers and our members are committed to tackling food insecurity in New Jersey,” said NJBankers President and CEO Mike Affuso. “Through this campaign, we hope to inspire others to join us in ensuring that every family in New Jersey has food on their table.”
