New Jersey Supreme Court Releases Its Business Litigation Report
On Apr 18, 2014The “Working Group on Business Litigation,” created by Chief Justice Stuart Rabner of the New Jersey Supreme Court, released its final report on business litigation. Formed last year, the working group studied how to improve the court’s handling of business cases.
The working group made the following recommendations:
- Expand the existing business court pilot programs in Bergen and Essex counties statewide with certain judges dedicated to these cases.
- Encourage mediation for cases valued at $200,000 or more.
- Encourage judges to publish written opinions in complex cases.
