New Jersey Society of CPAs Offers Disaster Recovery Guide

Amid unpredictable fall and wintry weather conditions, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) has updated its Disaster Recovery Guide for New Jersey residents and businesses. The guide is a handy resource for replacing lost or damaged personal documents and recovering faster when a disaster occurs.

The Disaster Recovery Guide is updated yearly with contact information for state and federal offices and insurance companies, as well as steps to replace credit card, passport, automobile or other documents. Information on how to avoid disaster-related fraud is also included.

“When a disaster strikes, it’s important to know where you should turn for information, what steps to follow to lessen the blow and what practical matters need to be taken care of,” said Ralph Albert Thomas, CPA (DC), CGMA, CEO and executive director at the NJCPA. “It’s also important to turn to your CPA for advice at these times.”

The Disaster Recovery Guide is available online at njcpa.org/recovery or by contacting the NJCPA at 973-226-4494 or [email protected].
