New Jersey Perspective on the Election

While the presidential race has demanded most of the attention this campaign season, other important elections will be decided in New Jersey today as well.

At the top of the list is Public Question 2, which would constitutionally dedicate all gas tax revenues to transportation infrastructure projects. NJBIA supports this measure and urges all members to vote yes.

Public Question 1 would authorize the creation of casinos outside of Atlantic City.

The 5th Congressional District is predicted to be a close race, and its outcome could have an impact on whether or not Republicans maintain their majority in the House of Representatives.

Three special state legislative elections necessitated by recent vacancies will determine who will represent New Jersey’s 18th District (Middlesex) in the Senate and Assembly and serve in the Assembly for District 29 (Newark).
