New Jersey Business magazine, a publication of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, is to receive eight awards at the Garden State Journalists Association’s 2017 Memorial Awards Dinner on May 24 at the Chart House in Weehawken.
Managing Editor George Saliba will receive a second place award in the Business Category for his story “Reaping the Benefits of Budgeting,” which appeared in the magazine’s January 2016 issue. The story focused on the challenges and best practices of personal budgeting and featured comments from leading accounting firms in the state.
Creative Director Mike Sanchez will receive a total of seven awards in the following categories: 1st place for Layout Online Publication – New Jersey Business magazine website; 1st place for Layout Electronic Newsletter – New Jersey Business Today; 2nd place for Public Relations House Organ – “NJBIA logo guidelines”; 2nd place and 3rd place for Layout Magazine Front Cover – July and September issues of New Jersey Business (respectively); and two honorable mentions in the Feature Story Layout category, for New Jersey Business, and the PR Publications category for the New Jersey Business & Industry Association’s “Halloween Infographic.”

The Garden State Journalists Association traces its origins back to the Hudson County Press Club, founded in 1927. The organization seeks the advancement of journalism in New Jersey and promotes the education, professional betterment and interaction of its members.
