Moudiab Named Dir. of Veterans Affairs and International Student Services at HCCC

Hudson County Community College (HCCC) has named Jamilah Moudiab as the college’s inaugural director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Veteran Affairs and International Student Services.

“The entire HCCC family joins me in welcoming Moudiab to Hudson County Community College,” said HCCC President Dr. Christopher Reber. “She will lead and support our DEI services for Veterans and International Students and play a key role in advancing our culture of care and our overarching priorities of diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

“Veterans choose to enlist in a volunteer armed force, taking them from their current circumstances and thrusting them into a world where the unknown is expected. International college students choose to sojourn to the United States for myriad reasons, each one worthy of a closer look,” Moudiab said. “I believe higher education is a true public good, and my mission is to promote veterans’ and international students’ stories and work to fulfill their needs.”

In her new position, Moudiab will oversee the development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of all programs, activities, policies, and services for veteran and international students. She will provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction to ensure inclusiveness and accessibility; collaborate with multiple campus constituents; and lead targeted enrollment, retention, and engagement activities including community-building programs and celebrations for veteran and international students. She will also help cultivate a welcoming and inclusive environment, and develop workshops and other professional development opportunities.

A dedicated higher education professional, Moudiab served as director of international admissions and programs at Felician University; senior director for global initiatives at New Jersey City University; international admissions and student services coordinator for Bloomfield College; international student advisor and application manager at The New School; and enrollment associate at Rutgers University.

Moudiab received her Master’s degree in Global Affairs and Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Political Science from Rutgers University. She is completing work on her Doctoral degree in Higher Education, Leadership, Management, and Policy at Seton Hall University. She is a member of the International Student and Scholar Regulatory Practice Committee of the National Association of International Educators.
