Morris County Chamber of Commerce Names New President

The board of directors of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce has announced the appointment of Meghan Hunscher as their new chamber president effective January 1. Hunscher currently services a executive director of the Morris County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC), a division of the chamber.

Hunscher replaces Paul Boudreau, who is retiring effective Dec. 31, after 10 years as president.

The chamber’s board of directors conducted a six-month search process to replace Boudreau led  by Ed Ahart, partner, Schenck Price Smith & King, LLP. He chaired a committee of nine senior executives who worked to evaluate and interview nearly 40 candidates for the president’s position. They unanimously recommended Hunscher.

“I am thrilled that Meghan has accepted our offer to become the next president of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce. She is clearly the right person to lead the chamber through its next chapter of evolution and growth.  On behalf of the board, I would like to recognize and thank Paul for his tremendous leadership over the past 10 years and pledge our support for and confidence in Meghan as she assumes her new position,” said Jack Miller, CEO of Solix Inc. and the chamber’s chair of the board.

“Meghan has the right vision and skill set to help our economy grow and prosper in the years ahead,” added Trish O’Keefe, president of Morristown Medical Center and board vice chair.

Hunscher has served as executive director of the MCEDC since 2016. She has increased membership and funding for the organization and worked closely with municipal leaders and other constituencies in Morris County and across New Jersey on strategic economic development initiatives.

“I am honored to be selected as the president of one of the premier chambers in the state of New Jersey and I am very excited about this new role leading the Morris County Chamber of Commerce along with an accomplished and dedicated board,” she said. “I look forward to meeting with current and prospective members and developing programs and initiatives consistent with the chamber’s mission to help businesses grow. I am fortunate to continue my career with an organization that will allow me to work with the strong business community here in Morris County.”

Hunscher holds an undergraduate degree with honors in Urban Studies and a master’s degree in City & Regional Planning with a concentration in Economic Development from the University of Pennsylvania. As a licensed professional planner, she has consulting experience for both municipal and private clients and served as principal planner, zoning officer and economic development liaison for the Township of Montville before joining the MCEDC.

“Our board and chamber staff want to thank Paul Boudreau for his 10 years of service as our president,” Miller said. “We are ready to support Meghan and all chamber members as we work  to retain and add businesses to our community and grow our Morris County economy in the years ahead.”
