Morey’s Piers and Beachfront Water Parks, located in Wildwood, recently released its 2023 recruitment campaign. The company is seeking to fill 800 of the 1,500 seasonal jobs available this summer. The recruiting campaign is in addition to various recruiting efforts, including job fairs, international recruitment opportunities, and more.
“There is a lot of competition for employees,” said Denise Beckson, vice president of human resources. “Our work environment is unique and fun, we want to showcase that in our advertising campaign. It sets our jobs apart from all the other ‘help wanted’ and ‘now hiring’ messaging.”
One Trick Pony is the ad agency behind Morey’s Piers out-of-the-box creative recruitment campaign. “Typically, a hiring campaign isn’t going to be the most creative thing you get to work on – but Morey’s is no typical client, and neither are their summer jobs,” said Rob Reed partner at One Trick Pony. “The campaign puts a fun twist on the benefits of working at the Piers and does it in a way that demands your attention… and a smile.”
The new campaign features the beloved seagull mascot and funny taglines aimed at being visually pleasing and standing out from the crowd, making them more memorable. It uses various tactics to get prospective applicants’ attention, including billboards, social media ads, and seagull “splatter” window decals. The company recently sent all its employees a Seagull Fly-Over Alert email. The email stated:
“We were just informed that there was a large seagull flock fly-over in our immediate vicinity. As a result, a number of vehicles parked on the Mid-Town and Poplar lots have been “affected.” Feel free to remove the “splatter,” but do not discard it! The “splatters” are reusable and can be placed on the windshield of the car parked next to you at a grocery store, your kid’s school or sporting event, your neighbor’s driveway, etc.”
Seasonal employees can earn up to $16 an hour, along with additional perks, including free use of the amusement rides and water parks, discounted passes for friends and family, discounts on food and beverage, and more.
Applications are being accepted in various departments, including Ride Operations, Lifeguards, Game Operators, Food & Beverage, Servers, Bartenders, Admissions, and more. Positions may last through the fall, with the greatest number of jobs available during the summer months. In addition, many of the 1,500 seasonal positions are filled with local college/high school students, teachers, and retirees who live and work in the Wildwoods each summer.
One must be at least 14 years of age to work at Morey’s Piers. A limited number of positions are available for those under the age of 18, and those interested are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
