Cranbury-based MJH Associates Inc., a full-service health care communications company, has acquired Medical Networking, Inc., a privately held company that owns Medstro and MedTech Boston. This acquisition further enhances MJH’s leadership position in health care communications with Medstro’s software as a service and MedTech Boston’s impressive reach into the digital health and medical technology readership, said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of MJH Associates Inc.
“As part of this acquisition, MJH Associates, Inc., is dedicated to preserving and strengthening the quality of health care throughout the world through research, education and communication,” said Hennessy. “We look forward to growing Medical Networking’s digital products and, in turn, providing clinicians access to unprecedented real-time digital tools they need for communicating with their colleagues and patients, with the overall goal of improving patient care in the health care industry.”
Founded and run by physician Jennifer Joe, M.D., Medstro is the leading software as a service platform for medicine and health care in three different markets: online communities, online challenges and social content delivery for traditional publishers. It is used by some of the oldest and most prestigious nonprofit and for-profit organizations, companies and hospital systems, such as the NEJM Group. Unlike its competitors, Medstro’s software is highly customizable, with a robust and rich feature set completely tailored for the clinical and scientific communities.
Established in 2013, MedTech Boston is a media brand that includes 3 social media handles, an online publication, and a signature annual event. Because it was one of the first online publications dedicated to covering digital health — medical technology, sensors, wearables, the connected patient and mobile applications — it has deep reach into this readership. This year marked the ever successful fourth annual MedTech Boston 40 Under 40 Healthcare Innovators Awards Program, recognizing the bright up and coming stars in this burgeoning field.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the MJH family,” said Joe, CEO and president, of Medical Networking Inc. “With the resources and leadership provided by MJH, we anticipate our digital products will have enormous accelerated growth into the markets. In turn, our hope is that more clinicians have the real-time digital tools they need for communication with each other, patients and the public to more quickly improve patient care.”
James Ryan, COO of Medical Networking Inc., added, “We already have strong traction in the medical device and biotech industry; we’re excited that this partnership will help us to expand further and give patient families and communities the digital tools they need to share ideas and empower themselves.”
