AmeriHealth New Jersey announced that Michael Munoz has been named market president. In his new role, Munoz will be responsible for AmeriHealth New Jersey’s profit-and-loss (P&L) management, as well as oversight of all business operations, including sales and marketing, provider networking, contracting and reimbursement, clinical services, finance and medical cost analysis. Munoz will assume his new position on April 3, 2017.
Previously senior vice president of Sales and Marketing for AmeriHealth New Jersey, Munoz oversaw new business sales and retention across all market segments including individual, small and large business, public sector and self-funded. He was also responsible for product management, marketing and public relations.
Since Munoz took the helm of AmeriHealth New Jersey’s Sales & Marketing organization over a decade ago, the company’s market presence has undergone significant transformation. The result has been enhanced product offerings, better engagement with the broker community and an enhanced brand awareness and public image of AmeriHealth New Jersey throughout the state.
Munoz has more than 25 years of experience in the health insurance industry. Prior to AmeriHealth New Jersey, he was vice president of sales for the mid-Atlantic region and new business opportunities for Oxford Health Plans in Iselin. There he was responsible for the startup and rollout of new product offerings and expansion into Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey.
“Mike’s innate understanding of AmeriHealth New Jersey’s business operations and the New Jersey market make him the ideal fit for this role,” said Mike Sullivan, President, Diversified Businesses for Independence Blue Cross.
An active leader in the local New Jersey communities, Munoz currently sits on the boards of the United Way of Burlington County, South Jersey March of Dimes, CARES Institute and Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey.Related Articles:
