Conrad L. Druker, CPA, CGMA, managing director of Princeton-based The Mercadien Group and managing principal of Mercadien, P.C., CPAs, is pleased to announce that Joseph J. Maruca, CPA, CGMA, PSA, has been promoted from director to managing director of The Mercadien Group and principal in Mercadien, P.C., CPAs. Mr. Maruca, a senior member of the firm’s Audit and Accounting and Private Company Services Groups, has been with Mercadien for 12 years.
Further, Joseph Galdo, CPA, CFE, CGMA, a member of the firm’s Forensic and Litigation Support Services Group, has been promoted to the level of manager from a supervisor position, and an additional 23 professionals in the firm – from the Nonprofit, Individual, Family Office, Government, Compliance Oversight, and Financial Institutions Services Groups – were also promoted. Mr. Druker stated, “The promotions of Messrs. Maruca and Galdo and the others reflect their contributions to the service of our clients, as well as our continued business growth and focus on the professional development of our associates.” The firm employs more than 130 people.
With his broad base of experience, Joseph Maruca specializes in working with the senior management and boards of directors of closely-held companies in the manufacturing, professional services, sports and entertainment and nonprofit sectors. He provides financial and strategic consulting expertise, as well as various audit services, to help clients run their organizations more effectively and efficiently.
A Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Global Management Accountant and licensed Public School Accountant, Mr. Maruca is a member of the American Institute and New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the NJ Technology & Manufacturing Association and involved in several other industry trade organizations. Mr. Maruca serves on several community organization boards, including the MIDJersey Center for Economic Development Governing Board, the College of New Jersey Corporate Advisory Group and the Notre Dame High School Advancement Committee. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the College of New Jersey and resides in Hamilton.
Joseph Galdo, a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Fraud Examiner, and Chartered Global Management Accountant, is responsible mainly for planning and conducting fraud inquiries and risk assessments for various entities, including privately-held companies and commercial and community banks. He identifies the occurrence and impact of real or potential fraudulent activity on their financial statements and operations, and assists with the recommendation and implementation of preventative internal controls and remediation measures.
Mr. Galdo is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the board of directors of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners’ Philadelphia chapter and the networking organization, YB Connected, and as a committee chair for the YWCA of Princeton. Mr. Galdo graduated from St. Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He resides in Philadelphia, PA.
