McCarthy & Company, PC Expands in Tinton Falls

McCarthy & Company, PC, a leading accounting and advisory firm, has acquired New Jersey-based accounting firm Frank Leonard & Associates, LLC., as well as hired partner John Blake, formerly of Klatzkin. In addition, McCarthy will be moving into a 6,600-square-foot office space in One Hovchild Plaza in Tinton Falls, to accommodate the growing team.

Their combined expertise will allow us to continue to provide superior accounting services to the sectors we currently serve and expand further into the transportation industry,” said Managing Partner Marty McCarthy. “These investments in our firm now are the foundation for continued expansion and growth in the future, both in personnel and industries.”

On Nov. 1,  McCarthy merged in Frank Leonard & Associates, LLC, a Forked River-based accounting and consulting services firm.

Joining the McCarthy team as a partner, Frank Leonard is a CPA veteran of more than 40 years with experience in tax, financial reporting, valuation and litigation services, and business consultation matters. A Stockton University alum, Leonard is well known within the industry, attending and speaking at seminars and conferences.

Also joining McCarthy from Frank Leonard and Associates is Ken Kang, CPA, serving as a client accounting services associate, an arm of the practice focused on providing businesses with a comprehensive suite of outsourced accounting solutions, and Jennifer Leonard, an administrative assistant.

Joining McCarthy on Nov. 7 as tax partner in McCarthy’s New Jersey location, John Blake, CPA, MBA, brings 18 years of tax and accounting experience. A Rider University B.S. and MBA graduate, Blake will be the point-of-contact for all former Frank Leonard & Associate clients. In addition to tax and accounting work, Blake will focus on tax-related business development, thought leadership, enhancing McCarthy’s tax offerings, and providing additional leadership to the tax team.

With the recent acquisition and onboarding of new staff, construction is currently underway for McCarthy to move into a new office space which they will call home. The fully company branded and renovated office will be located in their current office building, One Hovchild Plaza in Tinton Falls. The new space will be more than double the current office, with 6,600 square feet of space for their 19 staff members. With only seven New Jersey staff members in 2017, the company has nearly tripled in five years.
