Beachwood-based Mazur, Krieghbaum & Higgins, CPA’s, LLC, a leader in construction accounting, is pleased to announce that it is merging with McCarthy & Company, PC. Based in Lafayette Hill and Philadelphia, PA, McCarthy & Company is also well-recognized for its expertise in serving the construction industry.
“The combination of our firms will position us as a powerhouse in the construction industry in the Tri-State area,” says Michael Mazur, CPA, CFF and managing partner of Mazur, Krieghbaum & Higgins. The firm has offices in Beachwood and Woodbridge, NJ, as well as in Manhattan. “By merging with McCarthy & Company we can now offer a wider range of specialized services to our construction clients while expanding our footprint into Philadelphia and throughout Pennsylvania. Our combined resources and expertise will be a win-win for our clients.” Although the construction industry is recovering from the recession and beginning to fuel economic growth in the Tri-State area, contractors still face many challenges. Working with a firm that is very knowledgeable on the issues they face can make the difference in being profitable or not.
Mazur, Krieghbaum & Higgins will assume the McCarthy & Company name. Its New Jersey-based leadership team, supported by its current staff, will remain unchanged. “Our clients can rest assured that they will work with the same team of professionals that they work with today,” Mazur continues.
Founded in 1981, Mazur, Krieghbaum & Higgins serves clients ranging in size from small family owned businesses to midsize companies and global multimillion dollar corporations throughout New Jersey and New York. In addition to working with construction clients, the firm is a trusted advisor to businesses in the real estate, professional services, waste management, logistics, and service industries.
“I am absolutely thrilled that Mazur, Krieghbaum & Higgins and McCarthy & Company are joining together,” adds Martin McCarthy, CPA and managing partner of McCarthy & Company. “Mazur, Krieghbaum & Higgins brings unique skills to the firm that are going to afford our construction clients, both current and future, a depth of services that is second to none backed by a high-level of personal attention that is also unrivaled.”
Both firms are highly regarded for being responsive and proactive. “Mazur, Krieghbaum & Higgins and McCarthy & Company take a similar approach to client service – we are there when our clients need us and always looking out for our clients’ best interests,” says McCarthy. “We also share the same values, vision, cultural attributes, and commitment to our clients and employees. The future is exciting as we become a regional firm and we are happy to share it with our clients and staff.”
McCarthy & Company serves clients in diverse industries, as well as municipalities. In addition to traditional assurance, accounting, tax and business advisory services, McCarthy & Company also specializes in sales and use tax, long-term financial planning, employee benefit plan audits, nexus studies, tax credit analysis and in many other areas. The merged firm will have 25 employees led by a team of nine partners and principals.
