Manasquan Savings Bank, a community bank with a 140-year history serving Monmouth and Ocean counties, announces the creation of a private charitable giving foundation: Manasquan Bank Charitable Foundation, Inc. The Foundation’s mission will be to facilitate the bank’s financial support of not-for-profit groups, institutions, schools and other organizations in its service area. Primary areas of focus for grant-making will include education, health and wellness, social and civic services, culture and arts, and recreation programs.
“Charitable giving has been central to the core values of Manasquan Savings Bank since its very beginnings,” says President and CEO James S. Vaccaro. “In establishing this Foundation, we intend to deepen this focus and provide a clear pathway by which qualified and deserving organizations can apply for financial support.”
The Foundation will focus its attention on those regions in which the bank has offices or lending relationships and will begin seeking grant applications. It has established clear criteria to assist those who are considering a request for funding. These details will be published on the bank’s website in full, and include existing non-profit status, direct correlation with the Foundation’s stated focus areas, and a pathway to creating measurable results. In its mission, the Foundation notes that it may expand its areas of focus over time in keeping with community developments.
“We invite those who share our passion for building a better community for all to reach out and learn more about the opportunities available to them through the Foundation,” Vaccaro says. “Together, we all play a major role in continuing to make Monmouth and Ocean Counties a wonderful place to live, work and learn.”
