Lyft Announces ‘Get Out the Vote’ Initiative for Election Day 2019 in New Jersey

Lyft, whose mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation, announced its “Get Out the Vote” initiative in New Jersey ahead of Election Day – November 5, 2019. With past elections, people have cited transportation as one of the top reasons why they did not vote, per research done by The Center for Information & Research on Civic Learning and Engagement. That’s why this election year, Lyft wants to remove that barrier and make it easier for people across the country to get to the polls by offering new and existing users 50% off rides to polling locations using the promotional code VOTENJ19.

“At Lyft, we’re working to improve lives by connecting people and their communities through the world’s best transportation. This Election Day, we want to help make it easier for people in New Jersey to get to the polls,” said Eric Plummer, Lyft’s New Jersey General Manager. “Every voice is important, and we’re excited to help make them heard in this year’s elections.”
