Thomas J. Shara, president and CEO of Oak Ridge-based Lakeland Bancorp, Inc. recently announced the promotions of Mary Kaye Nardone, Stephen Novak and Elaine Petit to the officer position of First Senior Vice President.
“It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointments of Mary Kaye, Stephen and Elaine to First Senior Vice President,” stated Shara. “Their appointment to this newly created position reflects the increased importance of the roles they have assumed at the Bank, and each of them brings strength to their position through their experience, commitment and leadership.”
Mary Kaye Nardone
SVP to First Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer/ISO
Nardone began her career at a community bank in 1979 advancing to branch automation specialist. In 1989, she joined Midlantic National Bank as branch automation manager for the New York, New Jersey and Florida branches, and in 1992 joined National Bank of Sussex County as an automation specialist. In 1999, Nardone joined Lakeland Bank as assistant vice president, was promoted in 2001 to vice president, director of network services and to senior vice president in 2008. In May 2011, she was promoted to senior vice president, chief technology officer/ISO. Nardone graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a minor in business. She currently attends Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Nardone resides in Sparta.
Stephen C. Novak
SVP, Team Leader to First Senior Vice President, Division Head, Commercial Real Estate Group
Novak joined Lakeland Bank in 2001 as vice president/team leader of the Wyckoff commercial lending group, and was promoted to senior vice president/team leader in 2007. Prior to the Bank, he worked for a New Jersey media/publishing company as vice president of finance and operations. Novak was also employed with Independence Bank of New Jersey and Commerce Bank/North from 1983 to 1998. He earned an associate degree in business from Bergen Community College, and both a bachelor’s degree in finance/economics and a master’s in finance from Montclair State University. Novak serves as a trustee for Allendale Housing Inc., a not-for-profit organization active in the development of housing for low to moderate developmentally disabled individuals. He is also a trustee with the Bergen Community College Foundation and provides support to students through the alumni mentoring program. Novak resides in Allendale.
Elaine Petit
SVP to First Senior Vice President, Business Application Support
Petit has 34 years of experience in the banking industry starting her career with National Bank of Sussex County (NBSC) in 1980. As a result of the NBSC acquisition in 1999, she joined Lakeland Bank as vice president, computer services. She advanced her career over the years in the operations department and was promoted to senior vice president, computer services in 2007. In 2012, Petit advanced to senior vice president, business application support with expanded oversight for deposit and loan operations. Petit is currently attending the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a member of the Fiserv Card Services Client Advisory Board and has provided volunteer services to several nonprofit organizations in the local community. She resides in Wantage.
