Jonathan O. Bauer Joins Pashman Stein

Hackensack-based Pashman Stein, P.C. has announced that Jonathan O. Bauer has joined the firm as senior counsel in the litigation practice.  He previously was a partner in the litigation practice at DeCotis Fitzpatrick & Cole, LLP.

According to Pashman Stein Managing Partner and Co-Chair of its litigation practice Michael S. Stein, “We are so pleased Jonathan has joined the firm. He brings solid litigation experience and is knowledgeable about such matters as technology licensing, regulatory matters and corporate governance.  But just as important, he is particularly adept at partnering with business clients to achieve workable solutions. We look forward to his contributions.”

Bauer is a commercial litigator with expertise in plaintiffs’ insurance coverage ligation.  In 2014, he had a lead role during the much-publicized, six-month-long Cohen v. Perelman matter. In addition to several positions with New York and New Jersey law firms, he was a partner at Pashman Stein nearly 15 years ago. Bauer has also served as in-house counsel at financial services firms Citi and Lava Trading.

He earned a J.D. from Rutgers University, as well as an M.A. in philosophy from Rutgers, where he was the recipient of the Edward Bloustein Fellowship in Jurisprudence.  He earned a B.A from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, NM.  He is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey and has served as panel chair for the District V- A Ethics Committee.  He resides in Paramus, the town where he was born and raised.

“Pashman Stein stands apart from other firms its size; it is nimble and attracts the kind of legal talent that usually works at much larger firms in both New Jersey and New York.  In addition to investing in only the highest caliber lawyers, the firm takes pride in staying ahead of the technology curve.  These strengths allow the attorneys here to handle the most complex matters and successfully try the tough cases.  Pashman Stein is unique in its ability to offer both large-firm expertise and small-firm responsiveness. I am very excited to join the team at a time when it is becoming known as one of the state’s litigation powerhouses,” Bauer explained.
