The Investors Bank Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Lending Group has appointed Andrew Markey to the position of Senior Vice President and Team Leader. Markey’s key responsibility involves new business development with CRE sector companies in the New Jersey and New York metropolitan region. His focus will be on building new and reinforcing existing relationships with top real estate developers and property owners.
In announcing the appointment, Investors Bank Chief Lending Officer Richard Spengler said, “Andrew will help enhance and strengthen our solid, experienced and highly capable CRE lending team. He possesses the expertise to structure and complete complicated CRE financing transactions. His impressive talent in developing relationships with New Jersey’s top commercial real estate firms is critical for us to prudently grow our CRE lending portfolio.”
Markey immediately joins Investors Bank and becomes a key player on the team led by Head of CRE Lending Joseph Orefice.
Markey said, “Joining Investors Bank presents many exciting opportunities. The Bank is a large, regional financial institution with an exceptional reputation among CRE companies.”
He joins Investors from ConnectOne Bank, where he was Senior Vice President and Team Leader in the CRE Lending unit. There, he developed and grew the bank’s CRE lending capabilities.
Earlier, Markey held senior-level CRE lending positions at Wells Fargo Bank. He built many productive relationships with developers and successfully completed hundreds of commercial lending transactions during his 20 years at the bank.
He began his career as a bank examiner with Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, which is an independent bureau of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Markey earned both a BA in Economics and an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University.
He is a member of NAIOP – the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.
