Inspira Medical Center Vineland unveiled its new $34 million expansion. The expansion adds 36 new patient rooms and includes two floors totaling approximately 56,000 square feet. The project was a direct response to the community’s growing demand for both emergency care and inpatient beds.
The second floor expansion is home to 2 East, a Medical Surgical Acute Care Unit featuring 36 private rooms, two family lounges and a consultation room. The unit offers in-patient care with telemetry. Nurse’s stations, offices and other employee areas are also located on the second floor. The spacious patient rooms and nurse’s stations are uniquely designed and adorned with local art and murals in vibrant colors. The third floor has been left as a shell to accommodate future growth.
“We are extremely excited to open this new patient floor,” said Elizabeth Sheridan, COO of Inspira Medical Centers Vineland and Elmer. “The unique décor creates a warm and comforting atmosphere, which complements the exceptional care our award-winning staff provides to our patients.”
Inspira also announced that the second floor of the tower will be named the Southern Oncology Hematology Patient Floor in recognition of a leadership gift by the region’s largest medical oncology practice.
“We are grateful for the generosity of Southern Oncology Hematology Associates. They have been a pillar of excellence in the region for more than 30 years,” said John DiAngelo, president and CEO of Inspira Health Network. “We hope their gift encourages other physicians in the community to support projects that will enhance patient care.”
In addition to the new patient floors, 50 new patient/visitor parking spaces have been added to the existing parking lot on the front side of the building.
“We have made it a priority to grow and expand to accommodate the increased demand we have seen in Vineland and the surrounding communities,” said DiAngelo. “This expansion, along with the Senior Emergency Department we opened last year, will allow us to provide an even better experience, particularly during our busiest periods.”
