Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem Elects New Officers and Board Members

The Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem recently elected new officers for its board of directors: Suzanne Merighi, chair; David Hemple, vice chair; Penny Sager-Rossi, secretary; and Paul Perino, treasurer. The foundation also added Robert Odorizzi and Bill Bottino Jr. to the board of directors.

“The foundation was privileged to have David Hemple work so tirelessly as chairman for the past three years,” said Carolyn Heckman, executive director of Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem. “The combination of Suzanne’s passion for advancing the mission of our Foundation and the in-depth experience of each officer and the entire board will enable us to reach new heights during the coming years.”

Suzanne Merighi has been a librarian at the Millville Public Library for more than 30 years. An alumna of Georgetown and Columbia universities, she is active in the Vineland school system and many local committees, including the Cumberland County Cultural and Heritage Commission since 1994. She has been a member of the Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem board of directors since 2011.

“As the new chairperson of Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem’s board of directors, I am grateful to my friends and colleagues who join me in achieving extraordinary goals for the future of healthcare at Inspira,” said Suzanne Merighi.

David Hemple is the president and CEO of Century Savings Bank where he began working as a teller in 1983. He is an alumnus of Fairfield University and serves as Director of the New Jersey Bankers Board of Governors. He is the immediate past chair of the Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem, and has been a member of the Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem board of directors since 2009.

Penny Sager-Rossi, an accomplished marketing executive, is the founder of Performance Marketing and served as president from 2000 to 2009. She was also vice president of Sales and Marketing for Unitel Wireless Communications Systems from 1990 to 2000. She established the Deborah F. Sager Memorial Fund (DFSMF) in 1981, which is a restricted fund of the Inspira Foundation/Cumberland/Salem. All earnings from the DFSMF support the enhancement of healthcare for children at Inspira. She has been a member of the Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem board of directors since 2014 and a member of the board of directors of Inspira Auxiliary Cumberland County for more than 10 years.

Paul Perino is an Ameriprise Financial Advisor in Vineland, with a master’s in finance from the College of Financial Planning and a bachelor’s in accounting from Rutgers University. He is a longtime volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland and Salem counties and was named Big Brother of the Year in 2011. He also serves on the board of trustees at Cumberland County College, the Exchange Club of Vineland and Millville Day Care Center. He has been a member of the Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem board of directors since 2014.

One of the newly appointed members of the Board of Directors for Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem is Robert Odorizzi. Robert is president and CEO of Intertex Inc. and Lillian B Apparel in Vineland. An alumnus of Stockton College and former treasurer of the City of Vineland, he received the 2016 Liberty Bell Award for outstanding civic service from the Cumberland County Bar Association. He is active with local Italian-American and animal welfare groups and is the immediate past chair of the Inspira Auxiliary Cumberland County.

Also joining the Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem Board of Directors is Bill Bottino Jr. of Bottino’s ShopRite on West Landis Avenue in Vineland. The company was honored with the 2014 New Good Neighbor Award from the New Jersey Business & Industry Association and New Jersey Business Magazine. The annual Bill Bottino NJ Mud Run, which raises money for cancer care, is named in memory of his father and a portion of the proceeds benefit Inspira Foundation Cumberland/Salem.

Inspira Foundation board members are elected for a three-year term and may be re-elected to serve a maximum of nine years in total. Officers serve a one-year term and may be re-elected to serve a maximum of three terms.
