Mountainside-based Imagine announced the official launch of Imagine University™, which provides quality grief education and training for people from all walks of life and professions with a specific focus on schools, workplaces, and community organizations. “Our vision is to create a world where no child grieves alone,” said Mary Robinson, Imagine executive director and founder. “The only way we can achieve that is through education and awareness. Imagine University™ is designed to ensure that wherever a child or teen turns in their life there is an adult or peer who understands that when youth experience any type of loss it’s our job to pay attention, listen, and provide support. Our goal is to create grief-informed schools and communities and to normalize grief and loss as a part of life.”
To kick off the launch of Imagine University™ they are offering “Supporting Children Coping with Loss,” a virtual webinar on July 29. While anyone who wants to know how to support grieving children can attend, the webinar is designed for social workers at all levels of experience and licensure (LCSW, LSW, BSW) to gain a working knowledge and awareness of how to support children after a loss. Social workers completing this course receive 2.5 general social work Continuing Education credits. To sign up visit: imaginenj.org/julywebinar/
