Holy Name Medical Partners Opens West New York Physician Offices

Holy Name Medical Center administrators and physicians joined West New York Mayor Felix Roque and members of the community for a ribbon–cutting to commemorate the grand opening of Holy Name Medical Partners Hudson County’s West New York Physician Offices. Holy Name’s efforts to expand and improve access to health care in Hudson County were applauded by U.S. Senator Bob Menendez and Congressman Albio Sires, who offered video and written statements of support.

Holy Name Medical Partners’ new 60th Street office is a premier, multi–specialty practice featuring medical experts in cardiology, hematology/oncology, nephrology, and urologic oncology. The office is part of Holy Name Medical Partners Hudson County which provides a broad network of doctors and services in the area, in coordination with the comprehensive, award–winning facilities of Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, New Jersey.

“With the opening of this multi–speciality practice in West New York, Holy Name Medical Center continues to expand its services in Hudson County by providing residents with access to some of the top specialists in their respective fields,” said Michael Maron, President and CEO of Holy Name Medical Center. “These doctors are leading–edge practitioners who use the most current technologies and techniques to provide culturally–sensitive care to patients in the Hispanic community.”

“Improving and expanding healthcare for the Latino community is critical, and great strides have been made thanks to both the Affordable Care Act and local outreach efforts through Holy Name’s Familia y Salud program,” said U.S. Senator Bob Menendez   “Today, we celebrate the opening of Holy Name’s new physician offices and the life–saving, life–enhancing care that will now be available to the community.  Whether you have an issue with your heart or your kidneys, or if you require treatment for cancer, you now have great doctors who speak Spanish and are able to help right here at this state of the art facility on 60th Street.”

“60th Street always been known as ‘doctor’s row’ and the opening up of this new facility will further enhance that reputation,” Congressman Sires added.  “I want to congratulate the physicians who are relocating their practices to West New York as well as Mayor Roque and the Board of Commissioners for their continued efforts towards improving the town of West New York.”

In June, Holy Name Medical Center announced its partnership with the Town of West New York to offer community health services to members of the Hispanic/Latino community, including free medical screenings and exams, as well as health lectures and special events. Through Holy Name’s Familia y Salud program, the hospital works in conjunction with the West New York Department of Health to engage the Hispanic community with a host of events led by Spanish–speaking physicians and health care providers practicing in Hudson County.

“Holy Name has long been committed to helping members of our culturally–diverse population feel comfortable in seeking health care by developing grassroots programs such as Familia y Salud,” Maron continued. “We believe that our efforts in providing culturally–sensitive care and community resources will help to improve health outcomes.”

Through Holy Name’s Familia y Salud program, the hospital has worked to raise awareness of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) among Hispanics by offering pre– and post–enrollment seminars that explain what the Affordable Care Act is, how they can benefit from it, and what they need to do to obtain medical insurance coverage. The program continues to provide community outreach initiatives such as health fairs, educational programs, and physician lectures and partnerships with Hispanic communities, like West New York.
