The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) has announced new officers of its board of trustees and the leadership of its steering committee.
Alex Kelly, who is executive vice president, Corporate Affairs, Allergan, has been elected chair of the HINJ board of trustees. He previously served as treasurer.
Kelly has been an EVP and the chief communications officer at Allergan since 2015. Previously, he served as senior vice president, chief integration officer since July 2014. In this role, he led the integration of Forest Laboratories and co-led the integration of Allergan, Inc. following Actavis’ acquisition of each company. Prior to joining Actavis, Kelly was senior vice president, chief communications officer, Public Affairs and Investor Relations at Forest Laboratories. Previously, Kelly served as vice president, Investor Relations at Bausch + Lomb and he was senior vice president, Investor Relations at Merck & Co., Inc. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Purdue University, where he graduated cum laude.
Kelly succeeds Yin Becker, vice president, Communications and Public Affairs, Stryker. Becker continues to serve HINJ as immediate past chair.
Also at its May 15 meeting, the HINJ board elected Dan Casserly, U.S. country head, Government Affairs, Novartis Services, Inc., to serve as vice chair. The new treasurer is Steven Immergut, vice president and head of communications and advocacy relations, Pharmaceuticals, Bayer. Lisa M. Goldman continues to serve as board secretary.
HINJ also has announced that Loredana Cromarty, associate vice president, Government Affairs, Allergan, has been appointed chair of the HINJ Steering Committee. The new vice chair is Wendy Lazarus, director, State Government Relations, Pfizer, Inc.
