Harmony Village at CareOne Paramus Opens its Doors to the Community

To care for the growing number of northern New Jersey residents diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, CareOne — one of New Jersey’s largest family-owned, healthcare providers, and one of the largest privately-owned healthcare companies in the United States — has opened Harmony Village at CareOne Paramus. The brand-new center is 100% dedicated to memory care — the only facility of its kind in Bergen County.

Harmony Village offers innovative memory-care programs designed to help residents maintain the highest possible quality of life, as well as optimal cognitive and physical functioning. Residents have access to 24-hour certified nursing care and on staff dementia specialists who are dedicated to balancing independence with safety and well-being, as well as innovative technology and practices.

The newly opened unique assisted living community consists of 124 private one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartments each with its own private living room. The foundation for the warm, welcoming and secure surroundings is a next-tier model of memory care developed by leading experts in neuroscience. This highly personalized approach allows the staff to align the cognitive abilities and needs of each resident with appropriate staff and services in one of four “neighborhoods”. Within these environments, every detail has been carefully considered — from shadow-safe color schemes to barrier-free walking paths. The result is quality of life that minimizes stressful situations while maximizing opportunities for successful daily experiences.

In addition, residents have access to the same conveniences and amenities provided by traditional assisted living communities. Daily housekeeping services, transportation to and from personal appointments, specialized activities and recreation, and restaurant-style dining are all available.

“With the increasing demand for new and progressive care options for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, our goal is to provide a safe and engaging assisting living community that reflects the high standard of care that CareOne has become known for,” states CareOne Chairman & CEO Daniel E. Straus. “We are proud to bring this much-needed specialized care to Bergen County and look forward to welcoming all our residents.”

CareOne’s expansion in Paramus marks the 32nd location in the Garden State for the senior care provider and affirms its mission of developing state-of-the-art care and living environments for people in need of memory care.
