HackensackUMC Honored as a National Environmental Leader for Social Stewardship

Hackensack University Medical Center has received the HealthTrust 2014 Member Recognition Award for Social Stewardship. The medical center was honored for demonstrating a commitment to conservation and preservation of the healthcare environment.

HackensackUMC was recognized for exhibiting environmentally conscious practices campus-wide and for conducting environmentally responsible purchasing. Committed to its sustainability, conservation and recycling initiatives, the medical center is increasingly recognized as a leader in this regard.

“I want to thank our colleagues for their collaborative efforts and offer my appreciation to the team at The Deirdre Imus Environmental Health Center and the entire HackensackUMC Green Team,” said Robert C. Garrett, president and chief executive officer of the Hackensack University Health Network. “This significant achievement is in recognition of their efforts on behalf of our patients, staff and extended community.”

The HealthTrust Social Stewardship Award was formally presented during the 2014 HealthTrust University Conference and Vendor Fair held in Nashville, TN, on July 29.
