Hackensack Meridian Health announced its partnership with the Hackensack Performing Arts Center (HACPAC).
The arts center features the Hackensack Meridian Health Theater, the Gallery at HACPAC, featuring local artists, and the Atlantic Park courtyard, with an outdoor performance space.
“We are delighted to support the community by supporting the arts,” said Ihor S. Sawczuk, M.D., FACS, regional president, Northern Market, Hackensack Meridian Health, and a HACPAC board member. “It is a pleasure to play a role in this creative endeavor in Hackensack.”
HACPAC will showcase premier performers, including Broadway and Hollywood stars, as well as Grammy-winning artists. The art gallery will feature rotating exhibits as a showcase for artists encouraged to draw inspiration from the themes of various performances.
“Hackensack University Medical Center and HACPAC share a commitment to elevating and enhancing the lives of the people in our community,” said Mark D. Sparta, FACHE, president, Hackensack University Medical Center and executive vice president, Population Health, Hackensack Meridian Health. “I look forward to our positive and productive partnership.”
Described as a home that nurtures new artists: playwrights, musicians, directors, choreographers and visual artists, HACPAC is also home to professional theater companies and arts organizations.
Hackensack Mayor John Labrosse Jr. describes HACPAC as “the crown jewel of our emerging downtown renaissance.”
The performance season in the Hackensack Meridian Health Theater, a 224-seat venue, is well underway. The City of Hackensack and the Main Street Business Alliance co-sponsor the PAC the House series.
