Gonzalez Named New Executive Director of NJGOP

The New Jersey Republican State Committee has announced the selection of Kennith Gonzalez as its new executive director, effective Jan. 1, succeeding Theresa Velardi who has served in the role for nearly two years.

Gonzalez was a key part of the NJGOP team last election cycle, and brings years of experience in New Jersey Republican politics.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Kennith Gonzalez step into the role of executive director,” said NJGOP Chairman Bob Hugin. “Kenny is a young and intelligent operative with a strong work ethic and great political instinct. He has already made a difference in our party over the years, particularly by building meaningful relationships with our state’s Hispanic community. Kenny understands the importance of continuing our positive momentum in New Jersey, and we’re confident he will play a crucial role in the NJGOP’s 2025 victories.”

Chairman Hugin thanked Theresa Velardi for serving the state party for the last two years, saying, “Theresa’s energy and passion have been true assets as we have worked to grow our party and score lasting victories. Theresa was instrumental in organizing our New Jersey delegation to the Republican National Convention to nominate President Trump, and she oversaw our state party efforts that helped deliver the best performance for a Republican presidential candidate in this state since 1992.”

“It has been a true honor to serve our state party in this role,” said Velardi. “I am forever grateful to Chairman Hugin and the state committee for this opportunity and truly value the work we’ve done together on behalf of our party. Republicans across New Jersey are rightfully energized. We can win big races here, and while I am looking forward to my next chapter, I remain as excited as ever to see our momentum continue.”
