Genova Burns promotes Associates Erica M. Clifford and Maria R. Fruci to the position of counsel. Each brings a record of success and accomplishment to this professional benchmark.

Clifford is a member of the Employment Law & Litigation and Human Resource Counseling & Compliance Practice Groups. She advises private and public sector clients on a wide range of employment matters. Ms. Clifford’s primary role is as a litigator, defending her clients against claims of discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, and retaliation in state and federal court and before administrative agencies.

She also conducts internal workplace investigations and counsels human resources executives and management on pre-litigation issues regarding employee discipline, terminations, reasonable accommodations and leaves of absence. In addition to private employers, Clifford has defended a broad range of claims against public entities, including those alleging personal injury, premises liability, civil rights violations and employment-related claims.

Fruci is a member of the Complex Commercial Litigation, Class Action Defense, Intellectual Property, and Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Groups. She assists clients throughout pivotal events in their lives, regularly representing individuals, and public and private entities, in complex commercial disputes, trademark protection and litigations, mediations and arbitrations from initial stages through trial and appeal.

Her clients are spread across various focus areas including start-up companies, family-owned and small businesses, entrepreneurs, and large contractors. She is often tapped to serve as their general outside counsel. Fruci also represents individual clients in divorce and post-judgment matters, as early as pre-separation and all the way through mediation, trial and appeal.
