Former Federal Prosecutor Eric H. Jaso Joins Emerging Boutique Law Firm Spiro Harrison As Partner

Spiro Harrison, a full-service boutique law firm based in Short Hills and New York, announced that former federal prosecutor and experienced litigator Eric H. Jaso has joined the Firm as partner. Jaso will lead the Firm’s growing white-collar criminal investigations, government investigations, health care and government law practices.

“Eric – who I’ve known for years and worked alongside at litigation powerhouse Boies, Schiller Flexner LLP and its spinoff Stone & Magnanini LLP – is one the finest lawyers I’ve had the privilege to collaborate with,” said Founding Partner Jason Spiro.  “His experience is unparalleled and he’s a tremendous addition to our expanding firm.  It’s a great honor to call him my partner again.”

Throughout his career, Jaso has represented individual and corporate clients in criminal, government investigations and civil litigation matters, counseling them on a wide variety of issues – from securities and accounting fraud to health care fraud and False Claims Act matters. His extensive legal background includes working as an assistant United States attorney for the District of New Jersey (under Chris Christie), as counsel in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division, and as deputy general counsel at the U.S. Department of Education. He also served as an associate independent counsel in the “Whitewater” investigation under Kenneth W. Starr.

Jaso earned his law degree at the University of Chicago and his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island, as well as the United States Supreme Court and several federal appeals and district courts. He is a member of the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission and the New Jersey Urban Enterprise Zone Authority.

As part of its continued expansion, Spiro Harrison also announced the promotion of four attorneys to partner – Hozaifa Y. Cassubhai, Carolyn B. Rendell, Jeffrey A. Shooman and Adlai J.J. Small.  These four new partners are strategically positioned to use their increased roles to deepen Spiro Harrison’s experience across a variety of practice areas.

  • Hozaifa Y. Cassubhai – Cassubhai has extensive civil litigation and outside general counsel experience in an array of industries, including real estate, finance and technology. He is admitted to practice in the State of Washington.
