Fisher Development and Jersey City Mayor Break Ground on 33 Park Avenue

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop recently joined representatives of Fisher Development Associates and members of Hudson County’s civic and business communities to break ground on a new 44-story luxury rental building on the Gold Coast of downtown Jersey City.

Located at 33 Park Avenue between Luis Munoz Marin Boulevard and Seventh Street, the new high-rise residential offering will feature 448 upscale apartment homes and a full suite of world-class amenities and services in a convenient location just steps from the Liberty Harbor Light Rail Station and PATH and ferry service to Manhattan.

Designed by world-renowned architect, Perkins Eastman, the iconic glass curtain wall tower will be the first of two connected by a five-story podium consisting of a lavish amenities center and enclosed parking garage.  When completed, the two-phase project will house 900 luxury rental residences, retail space, a state-of-the-art health club, outdoor zero entry swimming pool, indoor and outdoor screening areas, a full-size sports court, and more.  Plans also include the development of a 267-room, full-service, Class “A” Marriot hotel by Tramz Hotels.

Fisher Development expects 33 Park Avenue to be completed in spring, 2017, and has retained The Marketing Directors of Manhattan to market and lease the residences.   The entire project will generate nearly 1,000 construction jobs and nearly 200 permanent jobs in the rental buildings and hotel.

“We’d like to congratulate Fisher Development which has built some of the premier buildings in Jersey City,” Mayor Fulop remarked.  “This is another step in Jersey City leading the state of New Jersey in job creation which we couldn’t be more proud about.  We hope that Fisher Development will build here for many more years in future developments and the door is open for that.”

“Jersey City’s story continues to be written as it grows into a 21st Century urban destination where inspired living spaces blend with art, culture, dining, nightlife and public transportation to create a vibrant live-work-play environment for today’s urban professional and creative class,” added Brian Fisher, a principal of Fisher Development Associates.  “We’ve been a part of this exciting story with previous developments such as Liberty Terrace, Liberty Towers and Crystal Point, and are delighted to get started on a new signature property that will radiate energy and life while enhancing the urban fabric of the neighborhood.”

33 Park Avenue will feature a mix of studio, one and two-bedroom residences ranging from 550 to 1,200 square feet of living space.  Homes will offer modern living spaces and floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize dramatic views of the Hudson River, Statue of Liberty and Manhattan Skyline.

World-class services and amenities found within 33 Park Avenue will include a 24-hour concierge, outdoor pool, lounge and landscaped deck; state-of-the-art health club, children’s playroom, cyber café, business center, conference room, screening room, dining area, various lounges and bicycle and general storage space.

33 Park Avenue will provide residents convenient access to an upscale urban environment with shops, restaurants, nightlife and numerous mass-transit options nearby.  The building is steps away from the Grove Street and Exchange Place PATH stations and a quick walk to the NY Waterway ferry terminal at Paulus Hook.

Fisher Development Associates is pursuing LEED Certification from the US Green Building Council for the residential buildings.
