EZ Health Takes Top Prize at TechLaunch BullPen #22

Cause-Related Startups Set the Tone at NJ’s Preeminent Pitch Competition

Last night’s TechLaunch BullPen #22 proved overwhelmingly that it takes more than energy and ambition to make a successful entrepreneur. It also takes heart. In a trio of aspiring startups participating in the Shark Tank-like event (a hallmark of BullPen), a common denominator revealed itself as a commitment to some disenfranchised segment of society. That shared value proposition made the judging even tougher.

The presenting company to win the prized Investor Award was EZ Health, a first of its kind health tech platform which makes healthcare easy and accessible for non-English speaking patients. EZ Health connects patients with doctors who speak their native language, enabling them to conduct video visits with the doctors within their platform.

EZ Health Founder & CEO, Etizaz Shah, commenting on his success, said, “The best part of participating in BullPen #22 was the Mentorship program before the pitch and, specifically, the help we got from our mentor, Perri Richman. BullPen will significantly help us in enhancing our network of investors and mentors.”

EZ Health gets $15K in professional services from TechLaunch’s event partners (listed below). It also guarantees a pair of pitching slots at upcoming meetings of Jumpstart NJ Angel Network (the State’s preeminent early-stage Angel investor group) and the VC investment group Tech Council Ventures.

Last evening’s intriguing roster of BullPen Presenters also included:

Stereotheque – a collaboration tool for creatives that connects businesses with on-demand, remote, creative teams at a fraction of the cost and time. Their platform includes everything one needs to manage multiple projects and deliverables, collaborators and seamless payments. Presented by Tomas Uribe, co-founder & CEO; mentored by Ratan Agarwal.

IRONBOUND Media  – a podcast production studio & independent network that helps veteran-owned businesses engage their perfect customer through “Dog Whistle Branding.” They accomplish this by helping veteran-owned businesses create, distribute, and grow branded podcast series. Presented by Mike Steadman, founder & CEO; mentored by Peter Kestenbaum.

TechLaunch Founder & Managing Director, Mario Casabona, commented, “Our vetting process continues to attract strong contenders vying for the esteemed Investor prize at BullPen. We’re gratified to also observe an emerging cause-related passion among NJ-based entrepreneurs seeking out the wise counsel of our seasoned stable of mentors. My thanks to all!”

Tech Startups who would like to pitch at the next BullPen #23, slated for Feb. 9 2022, should APPLY to be considered. Applications are screened on a rolling basis.
