Elana Zolfo, EdD, has been appointed dean, Berkeley College Larry L. Luing School of Business®. In this role, Dr. Zolfo will maintain academic standards, oversee the hiring of faculty, and work with other Deans and Department Chairs to support the Mission and Values of Berkeley College. Dr. Zolfo is a resident of Smithtown, New York.
“Dr. Zolfo has more than 20 years of experience in higher education administration, collaborating with faculty and staff to create a more student-oriented culture, and forging partnerships with workforce organizations in the community,” said Beth M. Castiglia, PhD, Berkeley College Provost. “As Dean, she will provide academic and administrative leadership for the Larry L. Luing School of Business and degree programs, furthering curriculum development that engages Berkeley College students in their paths toward success.”
Most recently, Dr. Zolfo served as Vice President of Workforce Development for The Aerospace and Defense Diversification Alliance in Peacetime Transition. In this position she determined workforce training needs and served on the New York State Regional Task Force for Workforce Development.
Prior to this, Dr. Zolfo taught MBA courses onsite and online at Dowling College in Oakdale, New York. She also served in various leadership roles in Dowling College, including as Dean of the School of Business, Interim President and Interim Provost. In these roles she worked in strategic planning and led a Middle States accreditation team. Her other prior teaching experience includes instruction at Suffolk County Community College in Selden, New York, and Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York.
Dr. Zolfo holds an EdD in Education Leadership and Technology from Dowling College. She earned an MBA in Management from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York, a BA in Psychology from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, and an AAS in Psychology from Nassau Community College.
