DMR Architects Designs North American Headquarters For Schiavone Construction

Secaucus-based Schiavone Construction is now occupying the DMR Architects-designed 30,000 square foot American headquarters for Schiavone Construction, considered one of the New York Metropolitan area’s foremost construction companies, with major infrastructure contracts for tunnels, mass transit and subway projects, bridges and highways, deep foundations, marine work and water treatment plants.

Schiavone brought in DMR to fully build out the space on the second floor at 150 Meadowlands Parkway in Secaucus when it was decided to renovate and it made sense to move to within the same building.

DMR’s design includes polished concrete and wood grained vinyl floors, sliding commercial-grade barn doors, exposed ceilings, lower height work stations with glass panels.

“We wanted to use elements like the concrete flooring and exposed ceilings to architecturally represent Schiavone’s business while organizing the work station to encourage the collaborative spirit that has contributed to its international success,” said Lloyd Rosenberg, AIA, President and CEO of DMR Architects.  “With Schiavone in a complementary industry to DMR Architects, it has provided more extensive insight into the project than a lot of our other clients.  We welcomed its contributions which resulted in a unique and functional space.”
