Delta Dental of NJ Foundation Awards $915k+ in Grants to Uninsured and Underinsured

Community organizations in New Jersey and Connecticut providing oral health care have been awarded over $915,000 in grants for 2016 from the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation, the charitable arm of Delta Dental of New Jersey. As a result, thousands of children, seniors and developmentally disabled individuals will have access to free and low-cost dental care and dental education. Also, several dental hygiene and dental assisting students will receive Delta Dental scholarships.

The grants, allocated during the first quarter of each year, will be used to help the uninsured and underserved—specifically children whose families are at or below the federal poverty level, the developmentally disabled, and vulnerable seniors. A goal of the grants is to reduce the number of complex and urgent dental cases resulting from the lack of preventive care, catching problems earlier to reduce complications later.
