Prominent regional law firm Teaneck-based DeCotiis, FitzPatrick & Cole, LLP has announced the addition of new partner, Vincent M. Giblin, and effective immediately the firm’s name will be changed to DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin, LLP.

Vincent M. Giblin brings over 20 years of legal experience to the DeCotiis firm. An expert trial attorney, Mr. Giblin regularly appears as trial counsel in state and federal courts. The addition of Mr. Giblin and his expansive practice areas to the DeCotiis firm presents substantial growth opportunities that will require the addition of at least ten new attorneys to the firm’s current roster of sixty plus.

Greg Lalevee, International vice president of the International Union of Operating Engineers who represent over 450,000 members nationally and Business Manager of Local 825 representing New York and New Jersey commented, “An attorney with the caliber of Mr. Giblin partnering with the exceptional skills and depth of the DeCotiis firm is a combination that will enhance the local, regional and national reach for our membership.” Mr. Giblin currently serves as the outside general counsel for the International Union of Operating Engineers.

Joseph DeCotiis, Managing Partner at DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin stated, “Mr. Giblin’s wide ranging experience will serve as a foundational building block for growth and he will provide continued expert counsel for our clients.”

“I am very excited about the opportunities presented by joining such a prominent and well respected law firm,” stated Vincent M. Giblin. “I am looking forward to continuing the expansions of our practice areas and delivering results for our clients.”

Prior to beginning his private legal career, Mr. Giblin previously served as an Assistant US Attorney in the District of New Jersey. For his efforts at the US Attorney’s Office, Mr. Giblin received special recognition from US Secret Service, US Postal Inspection Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was also bestowed the 2002 Administrator’s Award, one of the highest honors by the US Drug Enforcement Administration, for his outstanding achievement in law enforcement.

Michael DeCotiis, Managing Partner, DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin also noted, “The Giblin and DeCotiis families have long been well-known in both the legal profession and in public policy. Having had close family and political ties for almost 40 years, it was a natural synergy for us to come together.”
