David Miree is Wells Fargo’s Northeast Lead Region President – Community Banking

Wells Fargo announces that David Miree is named lead region president for Northeast community banking, which serves customers in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. The Northeast Region holds approximately $62 billion in deposits and is supported by 5,800 Wells Fargo team members, 678 retail branches, 1,240 Wells Fargo ATMs, and other locations that provide financial solutions to individuals and small businesses.

Miree, based in Philadelphia, has 28 years of banking experience. Prior to being named to his current position in July 2019, he was the lead region president for Community Banking in the Texas Region, a position he assumed in May 2017.

He has extensive financial services experience in senior roles, having previously served as executive vice president with Webster Bank, where he was responsible for managing retail banking, Webster Investment Services, consumer deposits, strategy and distribution, as well as customer contact centers. Additionally, he served as Webster’s liaison for sales practices review with the Office of the Comptroller and Currency. As the executive vice president and managing director of Sovereign Bank/Santander’s U.S. retail network, Miree was responsible for a network of 750 branches. His oversight also included Santander Investment Services, a team of 250 financial advisors, business banking, small business banking, branch design and strategy, customer experience, training and other staff functions. He also previously served as the executive vice president and region president for Wells Fargo in Philadelphia/Delaware.

Miree is a graduate of Ohio University, where he earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree of science. An active member of the community, in Texas Miree serves on the executivecommittee and board of the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP), the GHP Membership Committee, and the Texas Leadership Business Council.
