Jersey City-based Liberty Science Center announced today that David Barry, president and CEO of Ironstate Development, which owns and manages some 10,000 residential and hotel units throughout the region and has more than $1 billion in its development pipeline, and Josh S. Weston, the honorary Chairman and retired Chief Executive Officer of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) and one of New Jersey’s most distinguished philanthropists and community leaders, have been elected as Co-Chairs of the Board of Trustees of Liberty Science Center.
Messrs. Barry and Weston, both of whom have long been involved with LSC as supporters and board members, succeed Dr. William A. Tansey III, who will become Honorary Chair Emeritus. Alma DeMetropolis, Managing Director of JPMorgan Private Bank, and Laura Bilodeau Overdeck, Founder and President of Bedtime Math, were reelected as Vice Chairs. Bruce L. Levy, President and CEO, BR Energy, was reelected Treasurer.

We are building the largest and best planetarium in the Western Hemisphere. We are turning 16 acres of Jersey City land into a world-class hub for innovation, education, and technology job creation. David Barry and Josh Weston will be great partners in helping me take the Center to even greater heights.”
Six of the Garden State’s most prominent business and industry executives will join Messrs. Barry and Weston as newly elected board members. New Managing Trustees are Anthony T. Skiadas, SVP and Controller of Verizon Communications; Dr. Minalkumar (Minal) Patel, SVP and Chief Strategy Officer of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey; and W. Nevins McCann, Partner in Connell Foley. New Advisory Trustees are Susan Mustokoff Akselrad, former Chief Employment Counsel for Solvay S.A.’s North American companies; Christopher S. Boerner, President and Head of US Commercial for Bristol-Myers Squibb; and Michele Holcomb, Teva R&D COO and SVP of R&D Strategy, Portfolio, Search, and Partnerships.
Josh S. Weston is Honorary Chairman of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. He served as Chief Executive Officer of ADP for 15 years before retiring in 1998. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from City College of New York, and a Master of Arts in economics from the University of New Zealand. A Fulbright Scholar, he also holds several honorary degrees.
Weston’s commitment to education and human rights is evident in his extensive and enduring board service. He currently serves on many pro bono boards, including: International Rescue Committee, WNET (PBS), NJ Performing Arts Center, Liberty Science Center, NJ Food Bank, Tel Aviv Foundation, Boys Town Jerusalem, Safe Water Network, American-Israel Friendship League, KIPP-NJ Schools and FIRST Robotics. He also has served on the President’s Task Force to Improve Veterans’ Healthcare, the National Commission to Restructure the IRS, GAO Advisory Board, and DOD Tail-to-Tooth Commission.
He and his wife, Judy, live in Montclair and have four children.

He serves on the boards of Fortress Investment Group LLC, Liberty Science Center, the Lowline, and Beat the Streets Wrestling, Inc. A magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and a former all-Ivy wrestler at Columbia University, Barry was the team leader for USA Wrestling at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
