Connell Foley Announces New Office, Expansion into Newark

Connell Foley LLP, one of New Jersey’s largest law firms, is opening an office in Newark.  Marking a return to its roots as well as an expansion into one of the state’s most important economic centers, Connell Foley’s Newark office will be home to 18 of the firm’s 140 attorneys.  The office’s lawyers will practice primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, bankruptcy law and alternative dispute resolution.

“Connell Foley has been looking to open an office in Newark for quite some time,” said firm managing partner Michael McBride. “Not only is it the city where our firm was founded, but it has grown to become an exciting, vibrant business center that we are committed to supporting. We believe being in Newark not only benefits our clients, it also sends an important message that Newark’s resurgence can provide greater opportunities for everyone.”

Added Liza Walsh, who will serve as the Newark office managing partner, “As a firm, we have always admired those businesses that have made Newark their home. We hope to be part of a trend of suburban firms having a presence here. As our fifth office in New Jersey, Newark provides additional ease of access for our clients, particularly along the New York-Philadelphia-Washington, DC corridor. Newark is an important nerve center of our state and we are extremely proud to have an office here again.”

Occupying more than 12,000 square feet at One Newark Center, which also houses Seton Hall Law School, Connell Foley’s Newark office is located in close proximity to mass transportation and the state and federal courts. The firm will maintain its headquarters in Roseland, which is home to 87 of the firm’s attorneys, as it continues to likewise invest in its Jersey City, Cherry Hill and New York offices.
