Columbia Bank Opens Bergenfield Branch

Columbia Bank announced that it has opened a new branch in the town of Bergenfield, continuing its expansion into Bergen County. Located at 223 S. Washington Avenue, the venue offers full-service personal and business banking including drive-up amenities.

Opening festivities include special promotions such as CD specials and cash bonuses for opening a personal or business checking account, designed to help businesses grow and the neighborhood flourish.

The new branch provides an enhanced customer experience featuring the latest in banking technology, including a video message screen, digital rate display and an “Intelligent ATM,” plus a modern interior design, private conference areas, and a coin counter.

As part of Columbia Bank’s community support efforts, the company is hosting its “Banking for a Cause” program. For each new checking or savings account opened at the location, $10 will be donated to one of the following Bergenfield-based nonprofits of the customer’s choice:

  • Bergenfield Volunteer Fire Department
  • Center for Food Action
  • Friends of the Bergenfield Library

Furthermore, on July 29, the donations will be tallied, and Columbia Bank will provide additional funds to the designated local organizations:

  • $2,500 given to the charity that receives the most donations
  • $1,000 given to the charity with the 2nd most donations
  • $500 given to the charity with the 3rd most donations

Said Thomas J. Kemly, president and CEO of Columbia Bank, “We’re so pleased to bring full-service personal and business banking to Bergenfield and its surrounding communities. Columbia prides itself on offering an impressive selection of convenient, value-added banking services…from traditional consumer passbook, checking and savings accounts…to loans and residential mortgages…to online and mobile banking to commercial and SBA loans, lines of credit and business banking services to help any enterprise grow.” Kemly added, “Supporting local charities is always part of our banking culture.
