Colliers Int’l Adds Two New Managing Directors to NJ Operations

The two industry experts – who combined bring more than 35 years of experience representing major office space users throughout New Jersey and on a national and global scale – will further enhance Colliers’ tenant representation services division.

Sam and Chris are known for their success in providing clients with excellent real estate solutions across their portfolios,” said David A. Simon, SIOR, Executive Managing Director and head of Colliers International’s New Jersey operations.

“Their talent, drive and experience – on both a regional and national level – aligns with our firm’s objectives and we are confident that they will enjoy our culture and expand their business within our platform,” added Simon.

Sam Horowitz comes to Colliers with more than 17 years of experience working with multi-national corporations and local firms on real estate strategies and transactions throughout the Tri-State region and across North America. Among his accomplishments, Horowitz has arranged multiple leases on behalf of Roche / Genentech, Mistras Group, and Agfa Corporation, as well as transactions for Grant Thornton, Unipart Logistics, Pitney Bowes, and Raymond James & Associates.

Previously, Horowitz served as a Vice President at Cushman & Wakefield. Prior to that, Horowitz helped establish the New Jersey office for DTZ (formerly Equis). Horowitz received a Bachelor of Arts in Government, Politics and Economics from the University of Maryland. Sam is a LEED accredited professional specializing in interior design and construction.

Chris Hovanec brings more than 10 years of experience specializing in real estate strategy and portfolio management for companies in New Jersey and across the country. His clients have included corporate tenants such as Alcatel-Lucent, NetApp, Catalent, and Toshiba, among others.

Prior to joining Colliers, Hovanec also served as a Vice President at Cushman & Wakefield. Before that, Hovanec worked at DTZ (formerly Equis) where he started his career in tenant representation. Hovanec received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern Colorado.
