CHRISTIE 55 Solutions LLC Announces Richard Bagger as New Member

Richard Bagger, former biopharmaceutical executive at Celgene and Pfizer and first chief of staff to Governor Christie, joins firm.

Governor Chris Christie, managing member of Christie 55 Solutions LLC, a New Jersey-based consulting firm, announced that Richard Bagger, chief of staff for his first two years as
governor, is joining the firm as a member and executive director.

He has deep health care sector expertise and unparalleled corporate public affairs experience at the state, federal and international levels. Bagger served as chief of staff for Gov. Christie from 2010 to 2012, managing implementation of the governor’s policy agenda and priorities. Since 2012, Bagger has served as a commissioner and chairman of the finance committee for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He was also chairman of the Gateway Program Development Corporation for 2017. During 2016, Gov. Christie and Bagger served respectively as chairman and executive director of Trump for America, responsible for pre-election planning for the presidential transition of Donald J. Trump.

Bagger’s public service also includes 10 years in the New Jersey General Assembly, where he chaired the Appropriations Committee and was elected to serve as majority conference leader. In 2001, Bagger was elected to the New Jersey Senate and served there until 2003.

Bagger was executive vice president of corporate affairs and market access for Celgene Corporation until its acquisition by the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in late 2019, responsible for communications, patient advocacy, government relations and policy, market access, global health and corporate responsibility. Previously, Bagger served on Pfizer Inc’s senior most management team as senior vice president, worldwide public affairs and policy. Earlier in his career, Bagger was assistant general counsel of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and practiced law with McCarter & English, LLP.
