Carbon Health Enters NJ Market with 10-Chain Clinic Acquisition

San Francisco-based Carbon Health, an omnichannel healthcare provider, has acquired Central Jersey Urgent Care, a chain of 10 clinics across central New Jersey, bringing its total to over 90 clinics across 14 states. As Carbon Health’s first entry into the tri-state region, the acquisition highlights the company’s continued investment in making its differentiated healthcare accessible to more people across the country.

“New Jersey ranks fourth in the nation in providing the highest quality care for its citizens, and we’d like to build on that with our innovative, vertically integrated healthcare offering that creates a better experience for both patients and providers,” said Eren Bali, co-founder and CEO of Carbon Health. “In addition to our shared mission to improve these experiences and make healthcare more accessible, we were also drawn to Central Jersey Urgent Care’s incredible team of providers. With their partnership, we look forward to bringing good health to the central New Jersey community.”

Carbon Health’s omnichannel care model is designed to meet patients wherever they are, via multiple access points: in-person clinics, home-based virtual care, and easy-to-use consumer health tools. By partnering with and acquiring local healthcare practices, Carbon Health gains a deeper understanding of the local community in order to best meet its needs and deliver the right level of care.

“Carbon Health is a leader in providing compassionate care across the country,” said Dr. Markintosh Barthelemy, founding partner and chief executive officer of CJUC. “By partnering with Carbon Health and incorporating their technology platform, our clinicians will spend less time managing administrative work, more time supporting our community and ultimately lower the cost of care for our patients.”

“As a provider, we look forward to transitioning to the Carbon Health platform,” said Dr. Chirag Patel, chief medical officer at CJUC. “Carbon Health’s proprietary electronic medical record will allow us to continue to deliver high-end care, improve our operations, speed and efficiency.”
