Billtrust Appoints Matt Reid as New Chief Marketing Officer

Billtrust, a company specializing in the payment cycle management, announced that veteran SaaS executive Matt Reid has joined the company as chief marketing officer (CMO). Reid will report directly to Billtrust founder and CEO, Flint Lane. He is responsible for leading the global marketing function, which is focused on driving growth across key industries and expanding Billtrust’s leading market share in the accounts receivable (A/R) automation market.

Reid, who previously served as vice president of marketing for Velocify, brings relevant FinTech experience to the rapidly expanding company and most recently was part of Velocify’s $128M acquisition by Ellie Mae in late 2017.

“We are excited to welcome Matt to our leadership team at Billtrust,” Lane said. “We continue to enjoy strong growth, and our goal is to accelerate that momentum going forward using Matt’s valuable tech experience and strategic insights.”

Reid will direct overall corporate and product marketing strategy and execution while overseeing demand generation, revenue operations and sales development functions worldwide. He has served for more than 20 years in various leadership roles for technology companies, including SaaS and cloud computing for both B2B and B2C markets. Earlier in his career, he built sales and marketing from the ground up for Eucalyptus Systems, an open-source cloud platform acquired by HP. Reid also led product marketing for all SaaS technologies at Citrix, directing the initial market launches of GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar.

“Billtrust is part of a massive market opportunity and has realized tremendous growth in a world where businesses need to digitize and automate financial payment processes to remain competitive,” said Reid. “I’m thrilled to join Billtrust and work alongside a team committed to delivering customer value across all our vertical segments.”

He will be instrumental in delivering solutions to customers that have upgraded their invoice-to-cash processes and leveraged Billtrust to lower accounts receivable operating costs up to 40 percent and improve cash flow up to 26 percent.

Reid earned his Master of Business Administration in marketing at California State University, Sacramento, and he holds dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
